10 Simple Ways AI Can Help You Every Day
Wonderfully AI · Updated 29 October 2026
Wondering what AI could actually do for you? Not in the future, and not for tech experts, but this week, in your everyday life?
Here are ten simple, practical ideas you can try today in any free AI app, such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. No technical skills needed. If you can send a text message, you can do this.
1. Plan a calm week
Tell AI what's coming up, such as appointments, errands and things you'd love to fit in, and ask for a realistic plan with time to rest.
2. Write an email or message
Say what you want to say in your own words, even if it's messy, and ask for a short, friendly version. You can type it, or tap the microphone on your keyboard and simply speak.
3. Turn what's in the fridge into dinner
List a few ingredients and ask for two simple meal ideas with easy steps.
4. Understand something confusing
Ask AI to explain a word, an idea or a set of instructions in plain English, with an example. Remove any personal details first.
5. Learn something new, just for fun
Ask for a five-minute beginner's lesson on anything you're curious about, from astronomy to gardening, then ask it to quiz you gently.
6. Find the right words for a card
Birthdays, thank-yous and sympathy cards can be hard to write. Ask for three short, heartfelt options, then make your favourite your own.
7. Compare two options
Deciding between two things? Ask for a simple table of pros and cons, then tell it what matters most to you.
8. Plan a day out or a trip
Ask for a relaxed plan for wherever you're heading. Then check opening hours, prices and bookings yourself, because AI can get these wrong.
9. Prepare for an appointment or a tricky conversation
Ask AI to help you write a short list of questions to take with you, or gentle words to start a difficult conversation.
10. Clear your mind
When your head feels full, tell AI everything on your mind, in any order, and ask it to sort it into Today, This week and Later.
The one question that makes every idea work better
Add this line to almost anything you ask:
Before you answer, please ask me a few questions, one at a time.
AI then asks what it needs to know, and its answer fits your life instead of being generic. It's the heart of our free mini course, The Magic Question.
Three little habits that keep you safe
Check what matters. Dates, prices, health, money and legal details: always check with an official source.
Protect what's private. Don't share passwords, bank details or other people's private information.
Stay in the driver's seat. AI suggests. You review. You decide.
